This course is designed for early childhood programs or providers committed to being equipped with the essential knowledge and tools to support early communication development, prevent developmental gaps and promote the early detection of communication disorders. Through this course, providers will learn:

• Speech-language milestones and common communication disorders for ages 0-5 years old

• Early signs of communication delays and the early intervention referral process

• Evidence-based intervention strategies to reduce communication breakdowns, support transitions and empower children across play and classroom routines

• Techniques for supporting all communication modalities (e.g., speaking, AAC devices, gestures)

• How to create language-rich classrooms that support all learners
